This early view of the Waldie mill shows the mill pond well. Upstream of Waldie Island can be seen the breakwater cribbing through which logs were directed into the pond. Adjacent to the bridge are seen the cookhouse, staff houses, and the smaller cabins for single workers. To the right of them is the prominent horse barn. The elevated platforms start beyond the lumber storage yard and connect to the sawmill proper. At the very right is the railway trestle which ended beside the shipping sheds. |
